A transfer student is one whose legal settlement is not within the boundaries of the Cowan Community School Corporation. Cowan has accepted many transfer students over the years and intends to continue on a limited basis.

^Senior transfer students must meet additional academic criteria beyond the standard transfer requirements. Additionally, senior transfer students new to Cowan are not eligible for valedictorian and salutatorian honors.

Lotteries will be held, if necessary, for any grade level 1-12, if needed, on May 15, 2025.

If a lottery is held, students not selected will be placed on a waiting list in case the number of openings changes.
