Welcome to Dr. Conrad's English Classroom!
It is my privilege to be teaching for my second year at Cowan High School. I will be teaching English 9, American Literature and Composition, English Literature and Composition, and English 12. Course content will follow what is in Cowan's Course Selection Guide and will be delivered primarily through Writer and Reader Workshop. Emphasis will be placed on the writing and reading connection so students understand that writing improves our reading, and reading improves our writing.
As a proud Ball State graduate (BA '88, MAE '09, Ed. S '12, Ed. D '15), I bring over 26 years of experience to the Cowan classroom, ranging from teaching middle school to university students, being an administrator, and working at the site and regional levels of multi-family residential property management.
My husband, Jon, and I have been married for 24 years. He is a political science professor at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion. We are the proud parents of two sons: Daniel and Caleb. Daniel is a sophomore at Anderson University studying business management and entrepreneurship; Caleb, who will study computer engineering, is a freshman at Anderson University.
I look forward to an exciting school year!
