Homework

  • Every Monday, your child will get the week's homework (un-homework). There are 5 choices. You can do as many or as few as you would like. Keep in mind, the more your child does, the more they master those kindergarten standards. These choices are meant to practice the skills and standards we are learning in class, but in a fun, hands on, and engaging way. No need to cut off the tickets at the bottom. Leave them attached. Fill out the tickets for each choice your child completes. Have the child color in the circle next to each choice they complete. Turn the paper in the following Monday. Your child will receive a golden strip for each choice completed to go towards picking a prize from the treasure box.

Homework for April 30th-May 5th

Choice #1 - Students: On the back of this paper, write one complete sentence about your favorite part of our zoo field trip. Remember, a complete sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation mark
Choice #2 - Go on a 3-D shape hunt around your house! Find five examples of the 3-D shapes we have been learning about in class (sphere, cone, cube, cylinder). Write your five examples on the back of this paper.

Choice #3 - Students: Collect 15 items from around your house (paperclips, pennies, markers, pens) and create a subtraction story problem using these items. Write the subtraction sentence on the back of this paper Solve the problem. Ex: I have 15 pens. My sister borrowed 7 of them. How many do I have left?  15-7= 8

Choice #4 - Students: Explain to a family member what it means to draw conclusions (using clues from the picture and the text to figure out what the author is trying to tell us). Practice drawing conclusions as you read for your reading log.

Choice #5 - Students: Create a poem or song using our word of the week: have. Recite this poem or song to a family member.
